Chanel Parfum Bottle Clutch In Black

I’ve been obsessing over this so much lately that it’s not even funny anymore. From Chanel’s Cruise 2014 collection comes the Parfum Bottle Clutch, and because I’ve never posted an image of the clutch in stunning jet black with gold-tone hardware, it’s also going to be my excuse for doing this post.

Lift the bottle’s topper and the clutch opens up with the hinge located at the bottom of the bag, the 18 cm by 12 cm offering limited space for your personals, but really, that isn’t the point of this clutch to begin with. A work of art, a piece of Chanel iconography, a limited edition collectible.

Festive Gift Guide For X’mas, CNY & Valentine’s

Because I decided long ago that it would be much easier doing a three-in-one with Christmas, Chinese Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day all back to back from December to February, this quick gift guide should satisfy most with its varied array of prices and styles, from the cute and adorable to the classic and the practical. And because it’s a festive guide, I’ve chosen pieces in pinks and reds (if you’re a goth chick who only loves black, I apologise), good for X’mas, CNY and of course, Valentine’s.

Some notable mentions include Smythson’s multi-currency travel wallet for ladies who frequently go overseas for work (or play), Chanel’s playful striped calfskin leather wallet that’s pretty in red and white, and a classic from Bottega Veneta I’ve always admired, the iconic Knot in lush (and more affordable) satin.

And if anyone out there needs extra help picking out a special gift for that special someone this festive season, feel free to leave a comment here or drop me an email to

Dior Miss Dior Promenade Large Pouch

All kinds of pretty is simply how I would describe the Miss Dior Promenade Large Pouch, which is technically a wallet, a clutch and a sling all rolled into one.

Measuring 22 cm by 15 cm, the soft lambskin bag comes with all of the detailing you’d expect on a Dior, from the quilted body to the push-lock clasp and of course, the D-I-O-R alphabet charm that hangs from the chain-link sling. On the inside, besides being rather roomy, there are 6 card slots and a flat pocket, which makes it a wallet of sorts. Remove the sling and it becomes a clutch, put the sling back on and you’ve got a sling. Which makes it a really excellent all-rounder, and a really pretty one at that.

Available in many different hues that come with either silver or gold-tone hardware, it’s priced at USD1400 which should make it more or less around SGD2000 in Singapore. Love, no?

Celine Dion’s Celine Bag was Apparently Not a Fluke

Celine Dion’s lust for Celine bags can clearly not be sated by just one. (Can’t say we blame her.) Here she is carrying a sublimely navy blue calf leather Celine Classic Box Bag with gold hardware, while ambling around Paris with her husband. She does seem to exhibit a strong preference for the Celine Box – she carried a leopard calf hair and black leather version of the same bag just a few weeks ago. Celine and Celine! It makes me happy for reasons I needn’t articulate.

Celine is having a particularly good month, career-wise – she just released “Loved Me Back To Life”, her highest charting album since 2003, and it was recently announced that she’ll be hosting a CBS X-mas special “A Home for the Holidays”, which is set to air on December 18th. She’s also about to embark on a European tour, and she’ll be resuming her Vegas show at Caesar’s Palace in the summer of 2014.
