Nicky Hilton Adds a Chanel Clutch to her Huge Bag Collection

Here’s Nicky Hilton, attending an NYC screening of Jim Jarmusch’s new vampire flick Only Lovers Left Alive and carrying a Chanel Boy Brick Clutch. Nicky has an incredibly prolific bag collection, but she seems to be favoring eternally chic black Chanel bags as of late. We saw her out with her sister Paris a few months ago with a very stylish Chanel Chain Boy Bag, and last summer we spotted her in LA with a Chanel Quilted Chain Strap Bowler Bag.

Even with all of her recent Chanel acquisitions, Chanel bags only represent a small fraction of Nicky’s huge, ridiculously diverse bag collection. If you haven’t yet seen her edition of “The Many Bags of…”, it’s undoubtedly one of the best we’ve ever done. (And yes, we feel obliged to draw attention to it every time her name appears on the site, and we won’t stop until we can rest assured that every PB reader is well acquainted with the majesty that is Nicky Hilton’s handbag stash.)

Louis Vuitton Debuts Nicolas Ghesquiere’s First Bags for the Brand

Louis Vuitton is the biggest luxury handbag brand in the world, and there’s no job that counts more in the accessories industry than that of Louis Vuitton’s creative director. For most of my life, that was Marc Jacobs, comfortably ensconced atop the French powerhouse that he reinvigorated with his signature blend of luxury and pop-cultural wit. After the Spring 2014 show, though, Jacobs passed the reigns to Nicolas Ghesquiere, formerly of Balenciaga, and he debuted Louis Vuitton Fall 2014 in Paris on Wednesday.

Perhaps the most striking thing about the bags, and the collection as a whole, is that they’re very clearly not Marc Jacobs. The man and the brand have been so closely tied for so long that it feels genuinely foreign to look at LV through another designer’s eyes. Ghesquiere is more than capable, though; the show’s Mini Trunk bags are my favorite runway piece from Vuitton in recent memory, and the collection as a whole was crisply retro-modern. Check out the full selection of handbags below.

Hilary Duff Carries Both Celine and Givenchy to the Gym

Here’s Hilary Duff, leaving the gym in West Hollywood (in a pair of heels, no less!), clearly showered, blow-dried and ready to take on her post-workout day. She’s carrying both a Celine Luggage Tote and a Givenchy Antigona Bag – one bag for pre-gym, one bag for post-gym, I suppose? Celine bags aren’t sold online, but you can pick up a pale grey Givenchy Antigona similar to Hilary’s for $2,435 at Barneys.

If you’re shopping for a similar look at a markedly lower price point, do check out Amanda’s latest post in our ongoing “5 Under $500″ series: “5 Under $500: The Palest Shades of Grey.” As our regular readers well know, Hilary has an exceptional handbag collection – it’s so good, in fact, that it merits frequent revisiting. You can browse through all of her Celines and Givenchys in “The Many Bags of Hilary Duff” and “The Many Bags of Hilary Duff, Part Two.”

A Closer Look at Kate Spade’s Fall 2014 Handbags

Now that the frenzy of New York Fashion Week has been gone for a while, we’ve had an opportunity to look back at the collections we saw and handbags we’ve drooled over, and we’ve found another one that we think you need to see: Kate Spade’s Fall 2014 Handbags. The brand’s bags always manage to straddle the divide between affordable and editorial with aplomb, and for fall, it’s taken on everything from faux fur to faux Chinese food takeout boxes. Check out our photos of the collection below.
