How Do You Store Your Bags?

A couple weeks ago, I posted a photo on Instagram of me putting my Chanel bag in its dustbag and then into its box after I used it. I asked my Instagram followers if they also put their bags away after use.

My question elicited many responses and different viewpoints on how to store your bags, which got me thinking that bag lovers’ storage strategies must be so different. Some bags may just be stuffed into the closets, some might just be inside dustbags. Some bag lovers have massive closets, so each bag has a resting place, and many will go through every step possible to keep their bags pristine as possible. The possibilities run the gamut.

For my nice bags, after I use them I take everything out and put the stuffing back in and then place the bag in its dustbag. If the bag came in a box, I typically put the bag back in the box as well. I don’t do this for every bag, but I do it for my nicer luxury bags, and I really try to keep them in good shape. (You guys know I have a thing about my nice bags).
When I asked if other people put their bags back in their dustbags, many said yes. But it was also the first time I heard someone say that keeping a bag in its box can cause the leather to dry out. I’ve never heard that, and if that’s true, I’d certainly stop keeping my bags in their boxes, so now I’m trying to get to the bottom of that debate.

There’s no better way to learn about how others store their bags than asking, so now I’m turning to you. Do you put your bags in their dustbags and store them on a shelf? Do you also put bags bag in their boxes? Share your tips and tricks when it comes to storing your bags!

The Louis Vuitton Dog Carrier is for chic owners and their pets

As I mentioned in a few other posts, I spent the week before last in Florida with my family. My family has a pet that I think the most hilarious dog ever: a massive, 130-pound, year-and-half old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog named Troy. Troy weighs as much as many grown women, and when he stands on his back legs, he is as tall as many as well. Despite all that, he thinks he’s a lap dog. If I’m sitting on the ground, he’ll come up and sit his entire body on top of me and bark until I pet him. For this reason, sometimes I think of how hilarious it would be to have a pet carrier large enough for a dog like Troy from a luxury house like Louis Vuitton.

Clearly this will not happen for Troy,
but for the smaller, more portable dogs,
Louis Vuitton has always been the pet carrier of choice.

Louis Vuitton travel items have always been a favorite of celebs and fashion accessory lovers alike, but it seems the pet carrier might be the ultimate go-to. I have seen the fandom for this item ebb and flow a bit over time, but when it comes down to it, people just can’t get enough. As much as a monogram luxury dog carrier might seem a bit obnoxious, there is something I love about the monogram LV print on a pet carrier – maybe it is just because I love pets so much. There are two sizes available, 40 and 50, both via Louis Vuitton stores.

Example of Wrislet Bag

A wristlet is a clutch shaped bag with a small strap at its one end (like in the picture above), which allows the one carrying it to attach the strap on to the person’s wrist, that’s how it gets its name. Moreover, you can move freely while the purse stays safe, hung on your wrist.

Do I really have to say anything about this type of handbag? I mean this type of handbag is every woman’s best friend. A cosmetic bag varies in size, shape and style . However, the basic purpose of it is to hold cosmetics, therefore every compartment is designed in a way that allows you to carry your cosmetics safely without spilling or damaging them.

How to Choose a Perfect Handbag

More than a necessity, handbags are a fashion statement these days. Especially women simply can’t leave the house without picking up a handbag. Handbags come in different shapes, sizes, patterns and colors. That means, you no longer need to stick to one handbag, but can have different handbags for different outfits. Choosing a good handbag isn’t an easy task. You need to take care of a variety of things while doing that. This article shall act like a guide which you can refer to whenever you want to know how to choose a perfect handbag.

How to Choose a Handbag for Everyday Use

Think of the Things You Want to Stuff Inside
This is one of the most important criterion to choose a perfect handbag. If you hardly have two items to carry, then there is no point carrying a big handbag which will almost be empty. Choose a good hand purse instead in such a situation. If you are about to go to a meeting or so, make sure you choose a handbag that can fit in your files and folders. If you are going for a class or a place where you would hardly stay for a couple of hours, then a handmade handbag will also look good. If you are going shopping, then let the handbag be small to accommodate money, keys and cards, as you’ll have shopping bags to hold later. Hence, the place of visit and the amount of things you want to carry is of a great importance while you are thinking of choosing that perfect handbag.

Consider Your Physicality
Handbags are of a variety of types. Depending upon your physicality, you must choose your pick. If you are a plum-shaped woman, make sure you choose a bag that is just up to your waist. Do not choose the one with long belts which will come near the bottom and make you look unevenly fat. If you are a thin and short lady, you need to pick handbags that are not very big. Otherwise, that will make you look over-stuffed. If you are a tall girl, you are at an advantage. Tall girls can usually carry any sort of a handbag well, as anything looks good on them. Yet, you can choose long leather handbags to enhance your height even more. If you are a plus-size woman, try thinner bags that can accommodate your stuff, but won’t make you look over dressed. Hence, make sure you actually try those handbags out like you try your outfits in a trial room. Look at the way they look on you! Find out if they suit your body structure well. At times, comfort is the main priority. That way, you will come to know how to choose a handbag for everyday use. So trying out those bags shall solve your problem.

The Color of the Handbag and of Your Outfit
This is another factor which carries a lot of importance when it comes to choosing your perfect handbag. Whenever you are about to attend a party, meeting, gathering, or any other function, you tend to take care of the outfit you are going to wear. Similarly, you must also see whether the handbag you have chosen is matching or going well with your dress. If you are wearing a dark-shaded outfit, a black handbag can serve the purpose. On cool colored outfits, you can try and carry handbags that are light and sober. Printed handbags are in fashion these days. But a plain handbag will jell well with a lot of outfits. If you are wearing something ethnic with a lot of mirror or bead work or embroidery, then better choose a handbag that is typically traditional. Handbags that come in red, maroon and yellow shades suit the best with ethnic wear. If you are not really sure of the outfits in your wardrobe, you can simply have neutral colored handbags that usually go well with any dress.

Best Handbags for Everyday Use
If you are willing to buy handbags for everyday use, then the most important thing you need to take care of is the quality of the bags. Handbags that are really cheap when it comes to the price are often of poor quality. Try and choose washable bags if you are going to use them daily. That will keep them clean and maintained. Also, go for leather bags that are very durable and usually come in dark colors. Initially, they will cost you a heavy deal, but will surely remain loyal at least for the next two years or so, and still look new.

Hence, if you are about to buy a new handbag for yourself or a friend, do make it a point to take care of the above mentioned tips, so that you choose the best one. Also, if you are planning to buy a handbag for other women, you have to take into consideration the body type, color, and the outfit. That way, you’ll do justice with your money. So go ahead and choose the perfect one.

Chanel Classic Flap Hoops

First off, let me just say if you’re not a fan of the S/S13′s Chanel Classic Flap Hoops (or simply known as the Hoop Bag), close this window or click on something else to read. And if you’re a fan (like me) who hasn’t quite decided if you should commit, read on.

Available in 4 sizes and a multitude of colour combinations, the gambling online casino slots for fun
Classic Flap Hoops will go down as one of the kookiest bags from Chanel yet, rightfully earning its place beside other oddities from Chanel past and present, from cassette tape clutches to the ones that look like Lego bricks. Clearly not for everyone (how one would even explain why their bag is ‘stuck’ between a pair of hula hoops is beyond me), but if you have a sense of humour and want something that’s definitely out of the ordinary, then this is the one for you.

What’s more, when Chanel rolls out an exhibition of unique pieces they’ve created in 10 years’ time, you can be sure that this will be amongst them and you’ll be the one glowing with pride and joy.

Now available at Chanel boutiques worldwide (including Singapore), they are priced at SGD3310, SGD3660 and SGD4310 and measure 24 cm, 28 cm and 32 cm across respectively. The colour combinations (there are 6 in all) include Blue/Black and Red/Ivory (both of which are shown above), along with White/Beige, Yellow/Black, Dark Blue/Black and Beige/Ivory. There’s also one that’s completely black that also happens to be the one I’m eyeing.

As for the largest size (you know, the one that features life-sized hula hoops), it measures 79 cm across and only comes in one colour combination, White/Black. How much you ask? SGD14,270, which is only slightly more expensive than the much tinier ‘Lego’ clutch that’s also from S/S13 Chanel. Plus it will look really good hanging on the wall too. Like modern art.
